Back in the Saddle

Yesterday, I got some work done on The Maimed God's Saga for the first time in more than a month. I tidied up a few bugs and integrated a few improvements I still had noted from my last play-through of Act III . Nothing much, but progress was made.

Next, I intend to start on the final few cutscenes. There are three big ones that happen within the last hour or so of gameplay, and each will take some time to complete. Then, a couple more play-throughs, and Act III should be able to be shelved.

After that, I'll wrap up one remaining issue from Act I, and Act II will be all that's left. Again, all the creative content for Act II is done, so it's just scripting and play-testing. It's by far the biggest act, but there aren't any cutscenes, so things should go quicker.

On another front, the 2D artist I thought I had a few posts ago, never sent over any work, so I guess I'm looking again. If anyone knows anyone good...

Great to hear things are progressing. I can't wait to play this. :D

Also, it's sad to hear that the 2D artist didn't respond. I'd offer help myself, but I am afraid I have a bit of an artists block right now, and I am not sure if my type of 2D art would even be suitable for your purposes.

By the way, did you see the questions in my comment on your last blog post? (Sorry about the slight hyper-ness of that post. I think it was a bit of a sugar high combined with the fact that I am hyperactive to start with. :) ).

jazhara,

I knew there was something I forgot when I posted earlier! Yes, I meant to respond.

After TMGS, I have tossed around a number of ideas for my next adventure, but the three main ones are a sequel to TMGS, the medieval England-based adventure I discussed a few months back (around May), and the SG sequel. I have pretty advanced story concepts for each, but to be honest, I'll probably wait until I'm ready to start to see what mood strikes me.

Your comments regarding your feelings at the end of the SG series were good to hear. That means I did something right. While I know this may be hard to believe for an adventure you haven't even played yet, I'm willing to bet you'll feel the same after TMGS. It's really a much more story-driven adventure with some pretty intense themes and better-developed characters. I don't want that to sound overly pompous, but I firmly believe this will be my best work yet.

So I guess what I'm saying is you may prefer I do TMGS II when all is said and done.

Awesome to hear that work is progressing. I'm definetely looking forward to playing this, and MoW as well.

As for 2d portraits, I have no idea if this guy would respond (he is working on concept art for an indie RPG in pre-production) but it might be worth it to contact him if you like his stuff.

You might have to sign up for the forums to see the pics, I'm not sure. Either way, I really like his style. The people in his portraits have great character.

It's the guy called Felix in the thread you want (Scott is the lead of the project).

After playing SG, I am excited to see this release! SG has the best story flow I have played in any module yet. The ending was absolutely the best!

I don't think you sound pompous. Just confident. :)

Oh I have no problems believing , that I will feel the same after TMGS. But I still want that sequel to SG. *cuddles Saleron* ^_^

For now, I guess I'll just wait for TMGT to come out...ooh, still so long... >_<

- :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

(As a side note, am I the only one who almost types "TMNT" every time she wants to type "TMGT"? And I didn't even watch that series all that much as a kid! :P )

I just played your Halloween mod and absolutely loved it. I haven't laughed that much in a while.

I'm really looking forward to TMGS and anything else you come out with. That I would love to see more of the Saleron's Gambit story goes without saying, but yeah, just do whatever inspires you and it'll be good. :)

@ Jaz: My PC would *definitely* call him Sally if he kept that little joke up. :D

Ahhhhh!!! that Halloween module was so much fun! And w/out giving any spoilers away. Nice touch on companions! The story, poems, riddles, and game play were perfect!

Thank you Tiberious!
